Getting started with Nook
Create an account, schedule your first call and invite people.
What Nook is
Nook is a group calling app for people who want their calls to feel calm and focused: a small set of tools that work well, honest about what they do, and yours to run.
Nothing needs to be installed. Guests can join from a link without an account, depending on the meeting’s settings.
Create an account
- Open Create an account and enter your name, email and a password.
- Use at least 10 characters mixing three of: lowercase, uppercase, numbers and symbols — or a passphrase of 16 characters or more.
- You land on your dashboard, which shows what’s next, live calls and recent activity.
Note
Schedule your first call
- Choose New meeting.
- Give it a title, pick a type (video, audio, open room, stage or simulation) and set a date, time and length. Times use your time zone unless you choose another.
- Decide who can join: anyone with the link, only people signed in to Nook, or only invited people.
- Save. The meeting page shows the invite link and a button to join.
Want to start right away instead? Open rooms are always available, and you can join any of your meetings early to get the room ready.
Invite people
Copy the invite link from the meeting page and send it however you like. You can also invite people by name from your contacts; they see the invitation in their notifications and can answer going, maybe or not going.
If a link ends up somewhere it shouldn’t, rotate it from the meeting page. Old links stop working immediately, and invited people can still join from their meeting list.
Where to go next
- Joining a call — what guests see and do.
- Hosting and moderation — waiting room, muting and ending calls.
