Languages and accessibility
Change the language, time zone and theme, and use Nook with a keyboard or screen reader.
Language
Nook picks a language from your browser settings. To choose one yourself, use the language menu in the site footer, the account menu in the app or Settings → Language & region. Choose Automatic to go back to following your browser.
Right-to-left languages are supported: the whole layout mirrors.
Time zone and formats
In the same settings you can set your time zone, a 12- or 24-hour clock and the first day of the week. Meetings are always shown in your time, with the organizer’s time zone mentioned when it differs.
Theme and motion
Switch between dark, light or your system’s theme in Settings → Appearance, from the site footer or from the account menu in the app. Motion follows your system’s reduced-motion setting by default; you can also reduce it in Nook only.
Hum, the mascot, can be turned off or kept still in the same place.
Keyboard
- Tab and Shift + Tab move between controls; the focused one has a visible ring.
- Enter or Space activates buttons and switches.
- Esc closes menus, dialogs and panels.
- Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link.
Screen readers
Buttons, tiles and status indicators have spoken labels. Important changes are announced without moving your focus. Status is never shown by color alone: speaking, muted, simulated and connection states also use icons, shapes or text.
