Hosting and moderation
Waiting room, admitting people, muting, removing, locking the room and ending the call.

Who can do what
- Organizer — created the meeting. Can edit, reschedule, cancel it and moderate the room.
- Co-hosts — can edit the details and moderate the room, but can’t cancel or delete the meeting. Other hosts can’t mute or remove the organizer.
- Presenters — can speak and share on a stage.
- Participants and listeners — join the conversation, or listen on a stage.
Nook checks permissions on the server for every action, so a button that appears by mistake still can’t do anything it shouldn’t.
Waiting room
With the waiting room on, everyone except hosts waits until a host lets them in. Hosts see a notice when someone is waiting and can admit or deny each person, or admit everyone at once.
Moderation tools
- Mute one person or everyone. People can unmute themselves when they’re ready to speak.
- Remove someone from the call.
- Lower hands one at a time or all at once.
- Lock the room so nobody new can join, even with the link. Unlock it any time.
- Turn chat off for the call. Hosts can still write.
- On a stage, bring a listener on stage as a presenter, or move them back.
Leave or end for everyone
Leave takes only you out. The call continues, and it ends by itself when the last person leaves.
End for everyone closes the call for all participants straight away. Nook asks you to confirm first.
Settings that prevent trouble
In the meeting’s settings you can turn on the waiting room, mute people and turn cameras off as they join, limit screen sharing to hosts, turn chat or reactions off and set a lower participant limit. If an invite link leaks, rotate it: the old link stops working at once.
